Pareto Employee Sets World Record

We all hate those unnecessary stop over's when going on holiday, imagine landing in 10 countries in 13 hours!

Well, our very own Darren Cooper, recently set the world record for visiting most countries in 24 hours. He and his fellow pilot Joshua Wilson set the world record on the 31st August 2009.

This amazing adventure which is still subject to verification will be a new Guinness World Record set for visiting the most amount of countries in 24 hours in a fixed wing aircraft. The two budding adventurers landed in the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria (through the alps), Slovenia and finishing in Italy in 13hrs 32mins 45secs with an average speed of about 90mph in a 40 year old aircraft!

Darren said: "The challenge was absolutely amazing; best experience of my life. The flights didn't go without their hiccups. A few spring to mind. A rough running engine over mountainous terrain and landing at a grass strip in the Alps with only 60 seconds to spare are probably the main two. All in all the late nights of planning have all paid off!!"

The attempt to break the world record was not just for their egos, the two trepid adventurers did this amazing trip to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Schools4Schools. For further information please visit their website http://challenge24.org.uk/.

Well done lads Pareto’s proud of you.

It's been 2 months and everything is looking rosy

We have now settled into Pareto House our new head office and assessment / sales raining centre.

It is two months after the madness of our head office move and since we opened the doors in late June, over 500 sales professionals have already passed through to complete one of our many sales training courses and delegates staying at our onsite hotel have given it a resounding thumbs up!

We have also managed to squeeze in assessing over 300 sales graduates at our regular sales recruitment assessment centres… so Pareto House has enjoyed a warm welcome and exceeded all expectations! Everyone is looking forward to the space and facilities the new head office will offer.

Employment market 'recovering'

Listening to Radio 4 on the way into work this morning I was interested to hear the views of Kevin Green the CEO of the REC give his views on the new research into the UK employment market recovering.

The research, produced by Markit Economics and KPMG has indicated that finally the overall employment market is improving based on August employment figures of REC members.

Kevin's comments were encouraging to us all however it may be a little too earlier to give us all hope that the employment marketing is recovering for good. I think we all have seen a few green shoots over the last few months.

The employment market is a good indicator to the whole economic climate and the research and Kevin's comments may be a good sign that confidence in the overall economy is slowly creaping back.

Green Shoots

Green shoots... that's what we are seeing!

The sunny weather we were promised this summer never really came did it. However our spirits at Pareto have been lifted as the the feel good factor seems to be coming back. We are seeing more people feeling extra confident about the current economic environment, and what the future holds.

There is a lot to look forward to as we are seeing businesses refining their approaches to ride this crest of this new economic wave. Many of our clients are looking to rapidly deploy sales people into their organisations or requesting training within a few days rather than weeks.

What is interesting is the way that organisations are looking to develop. Rather than spending money on marketing we are seeing clients look at the true ROI by developing the whole sales process.

Interest in our sales programmes has been huge over the last few months as well as an increasing interest in recruiting sales people.

It is extremely interesting in what we are seeing and it will be interesting to see how the world of sales develops into... watch this space.
